Over the span of about two years, from the end of my junior year of high school until the summer before my sophomore year of college, I was a volunteer contributor for my town's local nonprofit newspaper, The Charlotte News. When given a story, I interviewed local Vermonters who were involved in the feature story and took photographs on site when applicable in order to write informative and interesting articles for the community. I wrote articles on topics such as graduations, education, local events, and people and places.

Teacher's assistant at the Shelburne Craft School
In the fall of 2024, I was a teacher's assistant for a kids handbuilding clay class at the Shelburne Craft School. The class consisted of six students ages 6-8. I assisted the teacher and the students in the classroom with clay handbuilding projects. Students designed, rendered, and glazed multiple projects during the six-week course, including trays, pinch pot rattles, and tiny houses. Near the end of the course, I initiated a personal reflection journal for each student so they could reflect on the projects they made and organize their thoughts from the class. Based on the success of these journals with the kids, I plan to expand the journals to future classes I will TA for at the Shelburne Craft School.
